If you are one of those who entered Turkey through the legal crossings and borders, whether air, sea or land, you can immediately apply for a residence permit and grant it in most cases.
What are the conditions that a person must meet in order to obtain a tourist residence in Turkey?
First of all, you must have a legal stamp on your passport that is proof that you have not entered Turkish territory in a way that violates the law. Also, you must have a health medical insurance that is responsible for your health while you are on the land of Turkey during the period of stay granted to you. Also, you must have a residential property address in Turkey and your own Turkish phone number. And do not forget to make sure that you have the visa in your possession that you need to cross to Turkey, which is the same as most countries in the world in this regard, and that the passport you own has a sufficient validity period to cover the period of your stay in Turkey.
If the visa in your possession is about to expire, you must hurry up in submitting the application for obtaining residence because, as we mentioned earlier, you will be granted residence under the visa. In order to obtain it, you must be personally present in Turkey or you have designated an agent who holds a power of attorney from you to represent you in applying for it and receiving it as well.
What is the reason why the Turkish government refuses to grant a foreigner a tourist residence that would enable him to stay on its land?
The Turkish government refuses to grant you residency if:
- You are late in booking a pre-date before the expiry of the visa you own, according to which you will cross Turkish territory. If there is something on your papers that is forged or illegal, or maybe you are missing a signature or seal.
- That you have decreased some of the required papers submitted to the official body responsible for this matter.
- There may be a decision that prevents the applicant from entering the Turkish Republic.
- You are also prevented and deprived of this residence if you crossed the Turkish territory illegally.
- Likewise, you will be prevented from residing if your goal is to destabilize and disrupt Turkey's security and stability.

- Also, if you are one of the owners of criminal files inside or outside Turkey, under this order you are strictly prohibited from obtaining them because you will pose a threat to the security there.

Who is responsible for accepting and rejecting residence permits in Turkey?
The state in general is responsible for this matter, and in the event that a defect is found in the papers during their examination by the employees, they, as appointed to follow up the affairs of this matter, have the right to refuse to give permission to grant residence directly and without referring to those who are higher in rank than them; The Turkish law, which stipulated these conditions, was clear and far from ambiguity, and did not require higher authorities to explain it. It is not obligatory, if you apply for a residence permit in any country in the world, that your application be accepted. There are reasons that limit this, and they are certainly valid, logical and non-arbitrary reasons, and we should encourage them and not protest against them.
