Turkey's bridges and history

Turkey was characterized by many touristic, historical and natural  attractions that made it an icon  of beauty   and charm, and as  it was said earlier, "Turkey is God's paradise on earth". All the elements of beauty are present in Turkey, including tourist resorts, ancient historical mosques, distinctive museums that attract the attention of tourists, waterfalls, springs,  forests, plains, beaches and lakes, as well as churches, towers  , palaces andbridges.  In this blog, we will take a look at the most important bridges in Turkey.

Istanbul Suspension Bridges:

There are a large number of bridges in Turkey that date back to ancient  centuries, some of which were built in the  Ottoman times, the  Seljuk eras or the Roman eras, and these historical bridges  attract the tourist who loves to explore ancient civilizations and how to live in them, and do not forget that there are types of modern bridges that were built recently, and this is what gave the essence of the beautiful diversity characteristic of bridges in Turkey.  Recently, the  suspension bridges in Istanbul have become the symbol in which we express Istanbul as a city,

Galata Bridge:

It is a bridge located in the middle of Istanbul and connects the northern section and the  southern section of the Golden Harbor, in which you see a number of fishermen arrayed on the steel bridge for fishing, and ferries can pass from under the bridge that are heading to Bursa, and Wilwa,

It beautifully overlooks Istanbul, and more than 100,000 people visit it daily to enjoy this beauty.

The Galata Bridge is 490 meters long.

Bosphorus Bridge:

One of the most important bridges in Istanbul, and it bears many names, so they call  it the Turkey Bridge and the Bosphorus  Bridge, and it was called the July 15 Martyrs Bridge (in order to honor the civilian victims who were martyred in the coup in 2016).

The bridge crosses the Bosphorus and connects the European and Asian parts of Istanbul.

The Bosphorus Bridge is  1074 meters long and 39 meters wide,

At the bottom there are many restaurants and cafes.

Yavuz Bridge:

One of the most important bridges of Istanbul , because it is the widest bridge in the world and has many lanes for cars and trains.

Yavuz is one of the names of Sultan Selim Al-Ulu, and  this Sultan had a major role in supporting and expanding the Ottoman Empire towards the Middle East and North Africa,

The bridge connects the European part  of Istanbul in the Garyçe district  and the Asian part of Istanbul in  the Poyrazkoy district.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge:

It is called the Second Bosphorus Bridge because it is the second bridge that connects the European and Asian section, cutting the Bosphorus,

What attracts tourists the most is their desire to pass under the suspension bridge to see the beauty and creativity, especially at night to watch the reflection of lights on the water.

And at the end of this blog, we  hope that we have succeeded in taking a quick look at the bridges of Istanbul that can give the reader a brief idea of them.
