Closing Some Neighborhoods in Türkiye to Foreigners; a Resolution in Your Favor
As of July 1, the number of neighborhoods in which the process of registering and changing residence of the foreigners will be closed, has increased from 781 to 1,169, according to a statement issued by the official website of the General Directorate of Migration Management of the Ministry of Interior.
In its statement, the General Directorate of Migration Management explained the reason behind the decision, namely, the increased density of foreigners in the areas which it has identified, reaching 20%.
As for the consequences of this decision, persons under temporary protection or international protection will not be able to register their address in these areas, as well as those who have residence permits. Except for family reunification and the registration of newborns, where they can be registered according to the parents' address.
Accordingly, it is not possible to register the residence address in the determined areas in the event of renting or purchasing a flat, but this announcement will make the foreign presence in the country more organized. In addition, many areas are still available where the density of foreigners has not increased yet.
This announcement will not affect those who have previously registered their address, rather it will include only those who are registering their address for the first time or moved recently to the specified areas.
Nevertheless, the real estate market will not be affected by this decision, as well as the investors. Hence, it will not be an obstacle to their investment, so of course they can rent out the flat to Turkish citizens for a good monthly return, or resell it and take advantage of the high price and make a profit.
