A New Page in Saudi-Turkish Relations
As a kind of confirmation of improved Saudi-Turkish relations, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited Türkiye for the first time since assuming position as Crown Prince, where he was greeted warmly by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential palace in Ankara.
The visit came after lean years of estrangement that led to the rupture of relations between the two countries in the wake of the 2018 killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.
The Turkish president shook hands with the Saudi Crown Prince, hugged and held talks, which concluded with a statement read: a new era of cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries.
This visit was followed by the removal of restrictions on trade between the two countries, flights, even drama and series, as well as the halting of negative media coverage between them.
According to Turkish economic analysts and experts, the Turkish currency is likely to improve against foreign currencies as a result of improved Saudi-Turkish relations.
The visit, investors hope, could lift the ban on investment projects worth at least $3 billion, which KSA has adopted in recent years but has not materialised yet.
As for real estate, this visit will benefit this sector, where there is a high demand from Saudi citizens and residents to purchase and invest their money in Türkiye.
