In Steady Steps Towards Tourism Recovery One and a Half Million Tourists in Cappadocia and Three Times as Many in Antalya
After the Corona pandemic hit all the world's countries, tourism declined in many of the countries that pioneered it. No one could take tours anymore because of the quarantine and the shutdown that have been implemented around the world.
With the emergence of effective treatment for COVID 19, the shutdown has come to an end, and with the decline of the disease, the return to life has begun gradually. Airports opened and visitors from many countries came, provided they received two doses of vaccine.
Cappadocia has had a share of visitors, with 1.5 million visitors since early 2022 to see its "Fairy chimneys", formed millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions, which locals believe are inhabited by the demons.
In Antalya, which is like a huge Mediterranean seaside resort, the number has doubled to more than three million tourists, a city that has been popular with its charming nature and warm climate.
This tourism activity has contributed to the strengthening of the Turkish economy as the economies of many countries of the world fluctuate, due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. This has stimulated the Turkish real estate market, which is flocked to by investors from all over the world.
