How to get a Turkish green passport:

Step 1: Write a letter to the Turkish Ministry of Interior

A person wishing to obtain a Turkish Green Passport must write  an official letter to the Turkish Ministry of Interior requesting to be granted this passport. This is done by submitting an official application that includes personal information and the reason why it is eligible for this passport.

Step 2: Prepare the required documents

The necessary documents must be prepared to apply for a green Turkish passport, which are:

  • Written application letter to the Turkish Ministry of Interior.
  • Turkish ID.
  • A copy of the old travel (in case of passport renewal).
  • Two personal photos not older than six months.
  • Legal consent for persons under the age of 18.
  • If the applicant is retired, a document proving his/her employment status must be provided.
  • If the applicant has resigned from his job, a document proving this must be officially submitted.

Step 3: Submit the application

After processing the documents, the application must be submitted to the Turkish Ministry of Interior. This can be done by submitting the documents and the official letter to the competent office of the ministry or the local passport office.

Step 4: Pay the fee

The price of the Turkish Green Passport Book is 501 TL, and this fee is paid when the application is submitted. It should be noted that the Turkish Green Passport is exempt from additional fees except for this value.

Step 5: Wait for a response

After submitting the application, the person has to wait for a response from the Turkish Ministry of Interior. The duration of obtaining a Turkish Green Passport can take about four days after sending the required papers.
